    ​SAR offers investment opportunities in the railway transport sector in the Asharqia Chamber​ 

    The CEO of Saudi Railways (SAR), Dr. Bashar bin Khalid Al-Malik, during his meeting on Tuesday, December 6, 2022, reviewed businessmen and specialists in logistics business available investment opportunities, in his talk about the national strategy for transportation and logistics services. 

    During the workshop, which was moderated by the Chairman of the Logistics Committee at Asharqia Chamber, Rakan bin Abdul Rahman Al-Attishan, the owner said that the national strategy for transport and logistics services is achieved by launching many opportunities implemented by the public and private sectors, enhancing competitiveness, increasing operating efficiency, and increasing the number of stations.

    And the owner indicated several investment opportunities and the size of the market available in it, and the most prominent of these opportunities is the manufacture of iron rails, as the size of the market available locally is 500 million riyals and the expected investment is from 70 to 80 million riyals. Middle and North Africa to one billion riyals and the expected investment volume in it ranges from 90 to 100 million riyals, and the manufacture of spare parts and traction engines, so the available market size ranges from 30 to 40 billion riyals, and the expected investment volume ranges from 150 to 200 million riyals, as well as manufacturing railways (concrete sleepers). Its available market is 1.5 million riyals, and the expected investment volume ranges from 100 to 150 million riyals, as well as the manufacture of train wheels. The available market size ranges from 25 to 30 thousand wheels annually, and the expected investment is 75 million riyals.

    The owner touched on several issues that reflect the development taking place in the field of railway transport in terms of the length of the lines and their increase after the entry of many projects, which was reflected in the number of train drivers, as well as the number of passengers by trains, who numbered too and from Dammam station about 986 thousand passengers. 2021, and the number is expected to increase by 19% by the end of 2022.
